Holy Cross Orthodox Mission is a mission of the Orthodox Church of America, Diocese of the South, which serves the Hattiesburg metro area. We are located at 2415 W. 4th Street, Hattiesburg 39401. Our telephone number is 601-620-4409. Schedule of services and contact information may be found on this website and our Facebook page, which we invite you to visit. Our parent church is Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church in McComb, Mississippi, 75 miles west of Hattiesburg. Our community is made up of Orthodox Christians who live in the Hattiesburg area and beyond. Some of us were born into the Orthodox Church and others are converts to the faith. If you are an Orthodox Christian or if you're interested in learning more about Orthodoxy, we invite you to attend any of our services or contact our priest, Father Alexis, at 601.310.2256 or arizonitisa@gmail.com. Click here for our services schedule. We will be delighted to welcome you!

Click here for Fr. Alexis' biography. Fr. serves three missions, so he rotates on weekends in order to serve Vespers and Divine Liturgy at Saint Catherine Orthodox Church in Columbus and at Christ the Saviour in McComb. Occasionally he also assists Fr. Paul at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Clinton. Thus, Fr. Alexis serves Vespers and Divine Liturgy at our mission at least once a month; twice a month if there are five Sundays. He also usually serves one Divine Liturgy monthly at Holy Cross on a Saturday morning.

The Orthodox Church is evangelical, but not Protestant. It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman. It isn't non-denominational - it is pre-denominational. It has believed, taught, preserved, and died for the Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost over 2000 years ago.
