Holy Cross Orthodox Mission is a mission parish of the Orthodox Church of AmericaDiocese of the South, which serves the Hattiesburg metro area.  Please visit us at 521 East Central Avenue, Suite B, Petal, MS 39465 (next door to U-Haul and behind the El Mariachi Loco Restaurant).  It is a large space, and there is plenty of parking.  Our telephone number is 601-620-4409.  Schedule of services and contact information may be found on this website and our Facebook page.  Our parent church is Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church in McComb, Mississippi, 75 miles west of Hattiesburg. Our community is made up of Orthodox Christians who live in the Hattiesburg area. Some of us were born into the Orthodox Church, and others are converts to the faith. If you are an Orthodox Christian or if you're interested in learning more about Orthodoxy, we invite you to attend any of our services. Please click here for our services schedule.  We will be delighted to meet you!

Fr. Alexis Baldwin is our priest.  Please click here for Father's biography.  Fr. Alexis will be rotating on Sundays in order to serve Great Vespers and Divine Liturgy for Saint Catherine Orthodox Church in Columbus and assisting Fr. Paul at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Clinton.  Thus, Fr. Alexis will be serving Great Vespers and Divine Liturgy at our mission twice a month.

We also have a Facebook page and invite you to join!  You'll be able to see and participate in interesting posts by our Group members.

The Orthodox Church is evangelical, but not Protestant. It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman. It isn't non-denominational - it is pre-denominational. It has believed, taught, preserved, and died for the Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost over 2000 years ago.
